Sheldene Fine Art

A world with friends who have crazy good talents makes life interesting and higtens your anxiety because you don't. My good friend Sheldene has a skill I can only wish I had, she has an eye for beauty and a hand for art.

Being part of her Patreon to support her I got picked to be her Patreon of the month, which means she will draw a picture of me that she can try new techniques on while saying a thank you. Firstly I want to say THANK YOU, because just look at it. She made me look better than I can image and it looks just like a photo.

If you are interested in having her draw you and or a family member don't hesitate to get in touch with her HERE and enjoy her skills like I do. She creates realistic details and nature gifts. She is self taught in coloured pencil are who seeks to create and define what it take to make nature, nature. She makes video tutorials and explains who and what has it taken to get the end result.

Here is the video tutorial of how mine was taken was done HERE

Lane Pool Reserve

If you have been reading for a while you know the reoccurring theme is nature and peace.... Lane Pool is just that - Heaven!!

E and I went away for our weekend and was just what the soul needed. I was raining and very cold but perfect for cuddling and quiet nights of listening to the rain on the roof. We drank some red wine, read our books and enjoyed some Hassie time.

We woke early next morning to birds tweeting and enjoy our cuppa in the van. We enjoyed some early morning exploring and made a mental note to come back as soon as we can!!

Living in the city really does make me miss the nature and the mountains I grew up in and we get stuck in the the routine of life.

City and Colour

** Photos by Luke Baker**

For E birthday last year I got him tickets to City and Colour at the Red Hill Auditorium. 4 months later it finally arrived! Seeing we only jus got back from our Fiji holiday and some time with family in Sydney - it just came along so quick!

Sitting in the auditorium with our picnic blanket and enjoying the beautiful sunset, we couldn't wait for him to start! Dallas Green's music has taken us around Australia and played as sound tracks for so many parts of our life it's only natural to have to see him live!!

What a show!! He sounded amazing, with the lights, the view and his voice!! Memorable! Even though it was a present for E, it was just as much a treat for me! We will be talking about this show for some years to come!!

Fiji Records

So as the crazy record keeping person I am, I kept record of just about everything. Just like I did in our past Adventures I kept record of everything from every penny spent, adventure explored and memory shared.

So when it come to the pennies spent this is how much we send on Fiji.
  • Flights and Hotel with breakfast included :  $5278.08
  • Sydney Hotel : $1454.49
  • Tours in Fiji Prior to going : $914.01
  • Daily F$ spent $2263.42 (In Aus$1421.97 exchange rates 3/3)
    • Grand total of $9068.55

In regards to our Goals lets see how we went.
  • Come back alive - Check, I am still alive while sitting here writing it.
  • Get away from routine - We got to break up life routine and see different life.
  • Relax and enjoy ourselves - YES YES and YES again.
  • Experience the culture beyond tourist life - We did get to walk around the main town and visit different markets where safe.
  • Let this be the start of something new - Defiantly, we have been planning new adventures I hope to be able to talk about soon .

Anton Wood

Social media has become such a big part of our lives and somewhat replaced phone calls or messages. With social media you get to peek into someone's life and notice events or destinations you haven't seen before or if they moved countries. After scrolling endlessly on the book of faces I noticed one of my friends back in South Africa had a selfie with a kangaroo. My first thought was, "I didn't know that kangaroos are now in South African zoos" so I clicked to only find out where it was taken to then only find out he has moved to Australia.

I just had to know, where on the world he has landed and try and organise a long awaited catch up. After some discussion and excitement of the new move we soon realised we are still on opposite sides of the country because he lives in Sydney while we are in Perth - still quite some distance away. Luckily on our way home from Fiji we were visiting family in Sydney, so a coffee catch was in order.

It's amazing to think 10years passed since we last saw each other, so much has happened and it was so much fun catching up and talking about home, olden days and friends who we don't talk to much anymore and how life has changed. We got to reminisce on how we went to a valentines Ball together and how small this world really can be.

It was so much fun catching up and talking about life, almost as if we never stopped talking. Anton when your on our side of Australia a catch up again?
