Hassie Australian Adventure - Week 50

What an exiting new adventure spot we have came across....

E and I have landed in heaven while we are still alive. Living here is so peaceful, its crazy that you didn't know you wanted something until you get it... All I know now is that I can't live with out it.

Everyone here is absolutely lovely and adds to our experience here in the beautiful mountain.

Looking forward to the next few mounts.

Lodge Plateau Walk/Ride

Our first experience of adventure on the mountain.

After driving up 12km from the main road to make it up the mountain we of course had to explore the land.

After making our way thru the long gras and walk between the cows, bugs and pretty sure there was a  few snakes and then came to the realisation that this walk wasn't a suitable ground for our 'cruise' bikes... but we made it work.

We did try very hard to make it work. Besides trying to make it work we did enjoy the 'ride' and a use the word ride lightly as we mainly walked our bikes around the plateau.

Its quite peaceful and quite walking around hearing the bug purr and grass being grass.

hmmm this is lovely and calming.... well after I leave the bike around.

Hassie Astralian Adventure Spot 50 - Ipswich

By the time we got here, I don't know about E but I was over driving. Driving from Melbourne to Sydney then Brisbane and then still more driving... you really don't realise just how MASSIVE Australia really is.

This a the show grounds where we parked our car and lounged around until 1pm the next day got maccas and made our way up to the mountain.

Was only another 1.3hours drive ahead of us.

This is a good spot as the had lovely hot showers, electricity and minimal people around so peace and quite was welcomed. There was only 3 other campers which meant there was plenty of pace for everyone to stretch out and still not bother our 'neighbours'.

Over all the spot was a lovely break from stressful driving and well deserved relaxation time... Little do we know what will be our next spot...

OMG!!

This spot we give 2 hassle carrots.

Girls Next Door Catch Up

Going to the Gold Cost we knew we had to catch up with the girls next door!! Not seeing them for a while meant it's well over due!

Breakfast was organised and catch up was in order. Firstly driving around in traffic was stressful then to find parking... Argh it makes me miss Tasmania's easy!

Seeing the girls and talking about the travels was a lovely way to share ideas and thought of what could be done next! I'm sure being much closer to them now we could possibly catch up more often.

Hassie Australian Adventure Spot 49 - Clarkes Beach Holiday Park

This was our first Byron Bay experience and to say the least we loved it!!!

How would I explain the fun we had in the few days we got to enjoy Byron. People travel long and far to come these beaches and I can vow that they are worth seeing. The water is amazing and the weather is perfect so much so that I would stay in the water (without freezing) and lay on the beach with out burring (like a turkey).

We stayed at this holiday park which is great as its not far to walk to the 'town centre', leads to the beach and few 100m from the eastern most point of Australia.

PERFECT!

We highly recommend this post and wish you happy adventures.

This Adventure spot get 4 hassle carrots.

Byron Bay

This is a 'our kind of town'. Not that we are beach kind of people but I can see ourselves going to he beach here more often. It's warm and the water is just stunning!! Hmmm

Having a full day in Byron we woke up to rain!! Great, now what are we going to do!? Expanding our stay for an extra day to explore and now it it's raining and we are camping! Just great!!

Praying to the Cloud Gods asking for a nice day where we can explore the town on Lola and Carter (our bikes). Our prayers got answered, and what a lovey day it turned into.

Spend the morning and lunch around town riding around and the rest of the day on the beach! Was such a lovely place to relax and explore.

We will be back Byron Bay!

Big Banana (Coff Harbour)

The image you get you think about big things here in Australia.

Seeing it right there almost feels unreal. I imagined it to be bigger though.
Reading the history it's fascinating to know that hey wanted something to make people stop and that made the Big banana a reality.

It's said to be the Biggest Banana in the world.

Big Bowl (Lake Cathie)

We're back to doing the Big things, well only a few around the way up to the new place.

The first one for the day was the big bowl. I was expecting a bowl for like cereal bits a bowl you use in lawn bowls.. So driving around and finding it was a surprise.

Said to be the largest in the world measuring up to 1.9m(6'2") in diameter and weighs 2 tonnes.

Trying to move it isn't easy!

Hassie Australian Adventure Spot 48 - Burrawan Rest Area

Sitting in the van with the highway on one side of us and the Forrest on the other with some kind of crazy creeping noise. Is driving us insane.

Let me explain - each time a car drives past the rest area the animal of some sort starts making their noise and soon every single what ever they are sing along!! It's so loud standing outside the van that your ears ring in pain!!

They don't make the noise when it's dark by the highway doesn't move.

A spot we DO NOT recommend. We give this spot 1 Hassie Carrot!!

Hassie Australian Adventure Spot 47 - Macca's Residents

Staying at family is always so much better than a hotel or Van Gogh and having our little niece around, gives this spot just a little extra happiness.

We always love coming to visit and never really want to leave.

We give this spot 5 Hassie carrots as always

Sydney Visit

Driving up to Sydney for the first time was stressful but exited. Visiting family is always so much fun!! And their the only ones we have really seen since we started traveling.

Driving from Melbourne to Canberra and then deciding we will drive straight thru to Sydney was a long day - leaving Melbourne at 9:30am and arriving in Sydney at 10:30pm gives you an crazy idea what a day it was (944km).

All worth it though!! Knowing we had 4 days of not really having to drive or be anywhere was pure bliss.

Having our little cheeky niece run around and keep us occupied is something I will miss when we end up leaving!! We will be back soon for niece or nephew number 2.. Eeekkk
